👟 GIVE YOUR OLD SHOES A NEW PURPOSE 👟

From June 1–30, CrossFit Kemptville is proud to be hosting a Shoe Drive in support of Soles4Souls Canada's 4Opportunity Program.

Have a pair of shoes collecting dust in your closet? Instead of throwing them away, donate them and help create economic opportunity for families around the world.

The 4Opportunity Program helps aspiring entrepreneurs in low-income countries start and grow small businesses by providing access to donated shoes and clothing that they can sell within their communities. Through entrepreneurship, individuals can generate sustainable income, support their families, create jobs, and build stronger local economies. In 2022 alone, entrepreneurs participating in the program increased their household income by an average of 233%, with many improving access to education, housing, health care, and nutrition for their families.

Every pair of shoes donated helps:
✅ Support small business owners and entrepreneurs
✅ Create sustainable economic opportunities
✅ Reduce waste and keep usable footwear out of landfills
✅ Make affordable footwear more accessible in underserved communities

We're accepting all types of gently used shoes throughout the month of June. Simply drop your donations in the collection box at CrossFit Kemptville.

Together, we can turn something as simple as a pair of shoes into opportunity, independence, and hope.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who participated in Brent's first 8-Week Gymnastics Pulling Series!

The program wrapped up last week, and it was incredible to see the progress made throughout the eight weeks. Several members achieved their first Pull-Up and Ring Muscle-Up, while many others made significant improvements in their Chest-to-Bar endurance, pulling strength, and overall gymnastics capacity.

Thank you for your commitment, hard work, and enthusiasm throughout the series. Watching our members develop new skills, build confidence, and achieve milestones is what makes these programs so rewarding. While dedicating time to mastering the fundamentals may not always be the most exciting part of training, it is essential for long-term success and skill development. We appreciate everyone who embraced the process and put in the work week after week.

We're excited to kick off our next 8-Week Gymnastics Series on June 11th, where we'll be turning our focus upside down! Participants will have the opportunity to develop their handstand skills, build a strong foundation for inversion work, work toward Handstand Walking, and gain confidence in a variety of upside-down movements.

For this one, we’re embracing the bump. Athletes will partner up and strap on a “baby belly” using wall balls and saran wrap to get a small taste of training while pregnant.

🎉NOTE: Members if you have access to your own Wall Ball, Weight Vest at home or ok to part with some saran wrap, please bring along with you 🙂 That will help to ensure everyone can fully participant.

"My name is Hanna Lee, I've been attending CFKV since August 2025 and I am a staple at 8am.

When I started CrossFit, I was very scared that I didn’t have the fitness level to be able to do most of the workouts. I mostly did yoga, mobility, and walking in the past. I still honour those modes of movement, but I rarely ever physically exerted myself or pushed myself to the limit. CrossFit Kemptville was immediately welcoming and very encouraging and those fears went away expeditiously. Those doubts turned into excitement, and the hard days turned into good days.

It has improved my life not only physically, but mentally. Doing something hard once a day makes everything else in life a little bit easier. Getting used to being uncomfortable builds my mental fortitude and makes me welcome new challenges. It has prepared me and allowed me sign up to things like HYROX races and the CrossFit Open. I don’t think I would have ever considered doing fitness competitions in the past. My average resting heart rate has gone down significantly since I joined this gym. My heart is working more efficiently, and I can feel it!

Getting a pull up, chest to bar or ring muscle up is a big part of any CrossFitters journey and in this focus series we’ll be focusing on strength & technique to help athletes improve quicker.

Reaching 500 classes isn't just a number—it’s a testament to hundreds of hours of sweat, discipline, and showing up even when it was tough. It represents roughly 3–5 years of commitment to your health and our community. We welcome and congratulate 2 more community members who have reached this milestone! 💚💛

We are officially almost 1 WEEK AWAY from the first OPEN Announcement on February 26th and we are gearing up for this to the best OPEN YET!

ANNOUCEMENT DAY COACH VS MEMBER THROWDOWNS!
Kicking off 26.1 February 26th @ 7:15pm: Brianna Mallon VS Coach Eva
Second Week 26.2 March 5th@ 7:15pm: Ken Richardson VS Coach Chris
Third Week 26.3 March 12th @ 7:15pm: Jaz Ovenden VS Coach Brent

Come by the gym each Thursday evening to cheer on the athletes OR catch the Livestream on our Facebook page, so you don't miss out on the action!

Still unsure about the OPEN? Here are a few reasons why we do the open and why should you!

The Open is comprised of three workouts over the span of three weeks. Workouts will be released every Thursday with a deadline to submit a score online by Monday evening. While the purpose of the Open is to find the fittest athletes in each region to move onto the quarterfinals, it’s also an opportunity for any member at any level to participate in the competition and represent their affiliate. It can add meaning and purpose to your training, by providing an opportunity to set a baseline and be amazed at the progress achieved the following year.

Back again starting February 27th, the gym will be hosting our 'Friday Night Lights' from 5pm to 7pm for all Open Competitors to compete and an opportunity for the community to come together! If you aren't competing in the Open, come on out to cheer on your fellow members and we are also looking for volunteer judges.

Together, we strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone who walks through our doors can experience the “Best Hour of Their Day.”

We are taking a moment to officially WELCOME Morgan Martin to the CrossFit Kemptville Personal Training staff!

Morgan joined CrossFit Kemptville in the spring of 2023 and has quickly become a familiar face in both Open Gym and evening classes. Known for her consistency and work ethic, she recently signed up for her first HYROX Pro Division team event with her teammate, Kiana. Morgan has also been putting in the work to achieve her first bar muscle-up as she prepares for this year’s Open. We’re excited to continue watching her progress and cheering her on every step of the way!

After joining CrossFit Kemptville, she developed a strong appreciation for the training methodology and was inspired by the significant physical, mental, and emotional progress of the community. This inspiration led her to pursue certification as a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer in 2024, after which she began offering personal training services.

Morgan would be a great fit for a young athlete, those who are new to strength-training, or someone looking to be led through fitness programming that is designed for their goals. She is accepting new clients and is offering early morning and day-time training session times.
