An avid athlete my whole life; I was no stranger to participating in organized sports such as soccer, competitive swimming and dance, horseback riding and running. My fitness journey began with instructing for GoodLife in 2009, where I held Les Mills Body Pump, Body Combat, CX-WORX certifications and Fitness Instructor Certification through CanFit Pro. Constantly seeking new challenges for myself, I took on long distance running and have completed to date 9 marathons, 15 half marathons and 1 ultra marathon. After a few races under my belt, I branched out into Obstacle Course Racing and qualified/competed in the OCR World Championships at Blue Mountain in Collingwood in 2016.

Olympic Lifting found its way into my life in 2016 out of the Rowing Club in Brockville, ON; where I started lifting and being coached under Clarke Flynn and Brett Jackson. CrossFit Kemptville opened in 2017, with a lovely combination of lifting and cardiovascular exercises, I knew had to try it! Within 1 year and being hooked, I obtained my Level 1 certificate and begin coaching in 2018 and completing my Level 2 in 2020. Owning a health and wellness facility has been my goal since I fell in love with Group Fitness over a decade ago! I have blessed with the opportunity to take over CrossFit Kemptville in March of 2022 and look forward to growing with the gyms incredible community!

I would like to welcome everyone to CrossFit Kemptville! Whether you are brand new to the sport or have have been an athlete your whole life, CrossFit is for everyone and if you aren't sure...come check it out for yourself. We look forward to having you join us and providing you with 'The Best Hour of Your Day!"

CrossFit Gymnastics

A dad to two kids, and I have been living in Kemptville since 2004. I have been involved in sports for my entire life, starting with hockey at the age of 4 and continue to play today. I also enjoy skiing and snowboarding, playing baseball and golf. I just love to keep active.

I found CrossFit in 2018 thanks to a couple friends who were members at CrossFit Kemptville. After completing the Introduction classes, I was hooked! I love the competitive (if you want it to be) nature of CrossFit. It gave me that push to be better again, to challenge myself and because of that I am healthier. I obtained my CrossFit Level 1 and CrossFit Gymnastics Certification in 2019 started Coaching in October of that same year. I love sharing what I know about CrossFit with the members, seeing members move better, reaching their goals and learn new skills. It’s a great community and I encourage anyone to come give it a try.

CrossFit Level 2 Trainer

I started CrossFit in my mid- 30s while I was living overseas in England and instantly fell in love. Throughout my life, I had always heavily involved in competitive team sports, but major injuries & work made this difficult to keep up with. CrossFit quickly filled the void.

In 2018, I went out and got my CrossFit Level One Trainers Certificate to increase my own knowledge and awareness of the methodology. In 2018/19 I began operating my own Military Affiliate while deployed overseas. I’ve now been coaching at CFKV for the past 3 years, mainly on Tuesday evenings and some weekends where I often run CrossFit HERO Workouts for the community.

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

I started at CFKV in 2017, looking for a place to practice climbing a rope for obstacle races. It took one session for me to be hooked on both the CrossFit methodology and the CFKV community. When I'm not in the gym, you can find me outside, canoeing, camping, snowboarding, cross country skiing, running, or obstacle racing. My passion for outdoor activities led me to taking my ORCKA Basic Canoe Instructor Certification and Wilderness First Aid. Looking forward to seeing you in the gym!

Burgener Weightlifting Level 1

I have been coaching CrossFit since 2015 and currently hold the CrossFit L2 certificate. Through my experience, I have developed a deep level of knowledge in functional training and aim to exhibit this in each and every class. At the end of the day, the most important aspect to my coaching is ensuring each client is having fun and enjoying the process in their fitness journey. Look forward to seeing you in the gym!

Pre-& Postnatal Certified

I found CrossFit in 2018 after having my second child. I had always been an avid runner but was looking for something different. Having never been in a gym before I was beyond intimidated, but after one class full of supportive people, fun energy and great music, I was hooked and haven’t looked back. My husband and I (and our 4 young kids) moved to the Kemptville area in 2020, and I found the amazing community at CFKV - and knew I had found something special.

In 2021, I received my CrossFit Level 1 and started coaching that same year. I have a background in inclusive recreation for adults and children with developmental disabilities, and experience in adapting programs to suit varying needs and abilities. I love how adaptable CrossFit is, and I have a passion for helping people set and reach goals that mean something to them inside and outside of the gym - whether that is to squat down to play with their grandkids without pain or to run their first marathon. Everyone’s journey will, and should, look different but the one thing that doesn’t change is the support and encouragement they get from the CFKV community!

RYT 200

I joined CFKV in 2021 and haven’t looked back. CrossFit has taken me on an exciting personal journey, and I’ve met so many great people that 2023 I decided to take not one but two courses - the CrossFit Level 1, and a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training program. My mission is to help make “stretching” a daily standard for all athletes, ultimately improving performance and decreasing pain and injury.

Jess has worked with many clients from pre and postpartum stages to teenagers, to current and retired first responders, to those 9-5 workers that want to lose the last stubborn 5 pounds and those who suffer from seasonal and food allergies. Jess' programming is a no cookie cutter approach to nutrition can help guide those get the results they want, and to help create lasting lifestyle changes that they can continue once they complete their program.

What Can You Expect?

Together you both will decide on the best plan that works for you. Your consultation appointment is free to ensure it is a good fit for you both.

What Does the Journey Look Like?

New weekly menu plans are provided that are altered to your goals, nutritional needs, exercise routines, sleeping habits and stress levels. Jess will schedule weekly check-ins to review the previous week, address any concerns/questions, as well as review progress photos to capture the progressions through your nutrition journey from start to finish. Some clients prefer to add in the measurements, while others don't. That is the beauty of the programming, is that we don't go by the weight of the scale or inches dropped, but by their overall well-being. The programming is designed to fit the clients' needs and Jess prefers to coach in a manner that relates to her clients' individual habits, lifestyles, food preferences and allergies and budget. Jess will adapt to the programming to you that will work best with your day-to-day scenarios.
